IT and Digital Tech
We're looking for our next set of IT & Digital Tech experts to help change the way we manage our customers energy data. This data is essential for our business as it will be an important element for how our business operates and performs.
With a constant demand for energy in todays world to power the way that we live, we have to be able to understand all of the needs from our customers for the future. This empowers us to evolve the energy market.
What will I be doing on the scheme?
The way we manage energy is going through massive change. Our customers’ desire for more information, more control and faster management means that we want to hear from future digital leaders.
When a home is connected to a SMART Meter, if you turn on a light switch – or ask Alexa to do it – a new piece of data is created. Multiply that by the millions of customers that we serve and you’ll appreciate the amount of information created. Our future depends on what we do with that data and as a Digital and IT Leader, you’ll help shape the future by deciding how energy data is managed and put to use.
Even though you’ll specialise in Digital and IT, you’ll still come away with a 360-degree understanding of our company and one of the largest energy suppliers in the Europe.
What you'll need to apply
You’ll need minimum of A Levels at ABB grades (Btec DDM) in at least 1 STEM subject such as Maths or Science. You will also need a grade C in GCSE Maths and English. At the end of your apprenticeship you won’t just be qualified with a degree in Technology and IT, you’ll be set up for a life-long career at a company that’s shaping the future of energy.
Due to Covid 19 and the current impacts on exams for 2021, we will review requirements for the role closer to exam dates in 2021.
Key information about the scheme
- The salary for the scheme starts at £18,000 with opportunities on the scheme for this to progress
- This role can either be based at our Nottingham or Coventry offices
Why is this the scheme for me?
This scheme is perfect for someone who wants to immerse themselves into a new world of technology within a large global business. You'll be working within our Data Architecture team who are responsible for looking after and deciding how our energy data is used from our customers. Analysing data and creating new programmes to manage data is just a few of the things that you will do on this exciting scheme.
Our energy sector is going to see more change and excitement than anything that has come before. The rise of electric vehicles, demands for cleaner energy and the shift to SMART Meters are all great examples of the changes happening right now. We’re proud to say that we now only supply 100% renewable backed energy to our UK homes.
